School admission arrangements

Consultation on 2027-2028 admission arrangements

We are now consulting on our school admission arrangements for 2027 intakes. To find out which other schools are consulting and send us your views, visit our consultation page.

Each school must have a set of admission arrangements to explain how places will be allocated at the school for a particular year’s intake. These are determined annually by the school’s admission authority.

We are the admission authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools in the area. Other types of schools have their own admission authority:

  • The governing body is the admission authority for foundation and voluntary aided schools
  • The academy trust is the admission authority for academies, free schools and UTCs

Admission authorities of schools wishing to make changes to their admission arrangements must publicly consult on the changes before determination.
